There are some out there recovering from over exposure to the sun, a few with aches and pains from undertaking such strange activities such as gardening and/or tree trimming and some from running too fast or too slow in the Australia Day fun run etc. There are also some good stories around about what went on and where.

Hi All,

There was a big turn out for Race 2 of the Aquathlon Series on Saturday evening. Reports quickly spread that the action was going to be hot, especially given the temperature of the water !! Mick Outhred was our Race Director and our thanks to him for his efforts. OTHER NEWS:

1. Community spirited Bertram & Belinda Birk took brooms up to the velodrome recently and completed the arduous task of sweeping the track following some mowing. It was hard yakka but they did the lot, lent on the brooms to admire their handiwork only to see McLeod's pull up with a leaf blower.

3. Erica Reeve and Aaron Buncle leave Darwin this week. We wish them good luck with their new endeavours. Hope to see them back visiting

5. Julian Weller was in the crowd of spectators watching the Olympic Distance event in Canberra yesterday. Ditto Lois Sharp from Alice Springs.
Lois did the sprint race.

TRIATHLON TRIVIA:

What is Ironman 70.3?

70.3 is the distance in miles of a Half Ironman (1.9km swim/90km bike/21.1km run). There is now an Ironman 70.3 World Championship event and qualifying is via Ironman 70.3 events. In Australia, that is Ironman 70.3 Geelong. Other Half Ironman events such as Gold Coast, Yeppoon, Shepparton & Busselton are not qualifiers so do not carry the 70.3 tag.

Safe training,
Cheers
Robyn
