OTHER NEWS:

1. Many of you will know Susan Peter. Susan was out riding & got hit by a car at the RDH entrance recently. She is on the mend now but not very mobile with pins etc in her leg. We wish Susan a very speedy recovery.

2. A quick reminder to all members that your assistance with packing up after an event is a given. Please feel free to pick up cones, take rubbish to bins, dismantle racks and take back to the shed or any number of other jobs that need to be done before your volunteer race director can head for home. Every little bit helps.

3. Amazed to see the number of people undoing their helmets prior to the dismount line yesterday. Your helmet needs to be done up securely prior to unracking your bike and remains that way until you have re-racked. An "official" official would stop you and make you do it up before proceeding. We will have "official" officials for Arafura Games Triathlon so you may as well practice doing it right.

4. The ITU season is underway. As the events culminate on the Gold Coast in September, this will be a very interesting season to watch.

5. The Australian Triathlon Championships (Olympic distance) is on in Perth this coming weekend. We have a number of athletes travelling over to the West including Monica Stewart, Craig Garland, Grant Preddy, Mick Outhred, Kyle Gear and Chad Anderson. Wish them luck if you see them out & about before they depart.

6. Nic Hahn is heading for the wilds of Ethiopia to do some Emergency Relief work. Won't be much of a chance to swim or bike but we are betting she will get the odd run in.

7. Cam Brown won IM NZ for the eighth time at the weekend. Now that's a stranglehold on an event. Gina Ferguson stopped Jo Lawn's run of wins. Gina has had fantastic results recently - a top 10 at Kona, won IM WA and Wanaka and now IM NZ - way to go Gina.

8. The buzz is building ... Arafura Games triathlon is being mentioned more and more. It's only nine weeks away. No wonder there are more out there training!

TRIATHLON TRIVIA:

Q: Explain the Under 23 Category?

Triathlon 3 x the fun
