Another busy weekend in paradise coming up. Lots to do and see happening in and around Darwin. If you are out there training on the bike, be extra careful. V8 time seems to bring out the hoon in more drivers than usual.

OTHER NEWS:

1. Chrissy Wellington had time to fix a flat (yes, again) and still win IM 70.3 Kansas.

2. Jerome Bosmans is deserting us and leaving Darwin in August for.....the French Hawaii called La Reunion, a tropical Island located near Madagascar, a sport paradise with a 3000 m high volcano, sand beaches, lagoon. There are also 4 tri clubs with over 500 members (of course he has checked that out).



3. Tour de France - every stage of the 96th Tour de France will be broadcast live on SBS TWO and for the first time streamed online at www.sbs.com.au/tdf. From the start in Monaco on Saturday 4 July, along 3,500 km of spectacular terrain through to the final stage on the Champs-Elysees in Paris, we can enjoy seeing every stage live on SBS. Start putting some credit in your sleep bank !!

4. A number of members will be in action at the Fannie Bay swim tomorrow. See previous E News for details. Good luck to those participating.

Many of our members were in action yesterday at the Katherine Ultra Challenge, others were putting in some quality training in the cooler Darwin weather. It's a fantastic time of the year just to be out and about.

RESULTS:

1. We hear Pete Brady had a scary experience on a recent trip back from Katherine.

2. A lot of wetsuits have been dragged out of cupboards during the recent cold snap. Those now rubber clad are staying warmer and swimming faster. There are still a few brave souls (myself included) still swimming as per normal.

3. News is out about the new Tour de Timor to be held 24-28 August 09. It's free to enter and there is a US $ prize pool. Further information www.tourdetimor.com

5. Individual entry for Noosa has sold out. You now go on wait list and cross your fingers.

6. Darwin Surf Club advise that the Fannie Bay Swim Classic is on the 20th June 09. Slightly different times this year, in that there is a pre registration on the Friday night 19th from 5.30 to 8.00pm at the Trailer Boat club .This is a lot cheaper than registering on the day. Also the race will be conducted in the afternoon on Saturday. Late registration is at 12.30pm briefing at 1.30pm. All information contained in attached entry form.
