Robyn's E News 9 Oct 09

Hi All,

Greetings from Hawaii where the who's who of triathlon are cut, buffed and ready to race Sunday morning Darwin time (Sat in Kona). The Aussie pros are looking great and are here in droves.

Meanwhile back at home, our duathlon series gets underway this weekend. No doubt the bike / run specialists are happy to ditch the swim for awhile and we will see a shuffling of the leaderboards.

COMING UP:

Sunday 11 Oct 09

Notes:

1. Many of you are happy to assist with body marking on race morning and your help is appreciated.

OTHER NEWS:

1. White is the must have race gear colour here in Kona. Looks great but knowing what one swim in Lake Alex would do, makes it easy to leave on the shelf.

2. The second of the junior tri skills sessions was conducted at the wavepool lagoon. The regulars were joined by a number of new kids who gained lots of skills and will feel very comfortable when the junior calendar gets underway (Oct 18 - Lake Alex).

3. Nikki Roddie, Stu Fitch and yours truly are only two sleeps away from start time. We are off to the Carbo Banquet and race brief tonight. Bike check in happens at various times tomorrow afternoon depending on race number and then it's all in the lap of the weather gods.

4. Believe Mick Outhred is still waiting the arrival of his AUS uniform for Worlds in Perth.

5. Ian Norton is up to date with the latest in nutrition information from the Sports Medicine conference he is attending in Kona. We clearly do not eat enough on IM race mornings !

Cheers,
Robyn
