E News corrections & more news

Hi All,

My halo has slipped again ..... here's a couple of corrections & additions to this morning's E News:

1. Marrara track doesn't close until middle of next month - Lee's Friday track session continues as normal until then.

2. Re swim distance for Long Course - sorry, distance was corrected in some, but not all E News groups. So NT Long Course is still 2km swim, 60km bike, 16km run .... happy training.

3. And I have received more comments on times showing for City 2 Surf ... those listed were taken from NT News this morning. It appears there may also be a number of people missing from the results as well.

4. Daryl's Swim Squad is at Parap Pool, tomorrow Thursday 12 - 1pm.

5. But wait, there's more ... Nightcliff Pool reopens Tuesday 15th morning (not Monday 14th). That's just in time for Daryl's swim squad (6am - 7am) to return to usual location and time.

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn

OTHER NEWS:

1. Congratulations to Lucie Hardiman (women's winner of the City2Surf) on another fantastic effort. Lucie wants fellow club members to know that she was misquoted in the NT News in Monday's coverage of the event. Lucie said, "Please let the other members know that I didn't say these things and in fact found the course challenging with the big hill to start and pushed hard the whole way to get my time, like I am sure they all did"! She went on to say, "These made up quotes certainly wouldn't make all the people who try their best to complete the course in the time they want, feel as proud as they should!".

2. Some results for City2Surf appear in the NT News today. A couple of people have mentioned that the 4km times are a bit out. These things happen, I'm sure organisers are working hard behind the scenes and final results will appear soon.

3. Media Hound: 1. Great photo of Hollie Goodall in today's NT News; 2. Michelle Gailey gets a mention in Bali Triathlon media release - see attached pdf.

4. Legendary cyclist Miguel Indurain took part in a team in the recent ITU event in Madrid.

5. World Triathlon Corporation has announced it will be making a sizable donation to the oil spill relief effort in the Gulf of Mexico.

6. Its pretty chilly down Alice Springs way and the town pool is closed. The club is currently conducting a series of duathlons and visitors are welcome. The Alice crew will be as fit as come Alice Springs Masters Games Triathlon and Duathlon time in October. Further info on those events and how to enter at www.alicespringsmasters.com.au

7. The 29th Coral Coast Triathlon is now open for registration at http://www.sportsfest.com.au/ This year the race is moving from Cairns to Port Douglas.

8. Just missed crossing paths with Nic Hahn who was in Brisbane last week for training prior to heading for Haiti.

9. Hidden Valley is closed. Marrara Stadium is closed. Lake Alexander is closed. Fannie Bay is closed. But wait, there is good news, Nightcliff Pool reopens Tuesday.

10. Heads up: Pool entry fees are increasing from 1 July 2010.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN...

... you don't think it is unusual to be planning to go to races to be held in two or three years time
... you are busy trying to convince your partner that a set of Zipps is going to "make a difference..." How many minutes was that???
... you are sporting gravel rash and bruises and all your friends want to know is how your bike is

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn
