Photo: Underway at the Waterfront Lagoon Splash N Dash

Hi All,

Splash N Dash (or slash n dash if you read today's NT News) at the Waterfront Lagoon was again well attended and proved a very competitive event. We certainly provided great entertainment for the patrons of the various eating and watering hole establishments and they in turn were very encouraging!

Our thanks to RD Lisa Svara and the many volunteers who helped out at the event. We really appreciated your efforts in putting on a fantastic event for us.

Good news is that the "monster sucker" fish stayed out of the way during the event proper although he did nudge a few who warmed up prior to the race !

FOR SALE / WANTED ETC:

OTHER NEWS:

1. Fannie Bay Swim date has been announced. 24 July 2011 (morning swim)

2. Our members often make use of the velodrome. Unfortunately there have been some recent incidents which indicate that some users are unfamiliar with basic safety rules at the venue.

Please ensure you: a. Only enter the track through (or over) the gate to the right hand side of the canteen. This way there is only one spot where you have to worry about riders entering/exiting the track; b. Look to the left before you walk through the gate (or jump over it); c. Only ride in an anti clockwise direction; d. Ride in a predicatable fashion. If you are moving to the outside of the track to pull over indicate your intentions and look over your shoulder.

3. How amazing that rescued Chilean miner Edison Pena (nicknamed the runner by his fellow miners) ran in the New York City marathon. He trained underground !

4. E News short and sweet ... knew you would be waiting for Splash N Dash results.

Safe Training,
Cheers,
Robyn
