A Junior uniform order will be sent out as soon as designs are finalized.

SIZING:

1.  Size Chart:  It is very important to measure yourself and check sizes against this chart.  Fit is snug.

Club Gear Q&A:

Q:  What does the club design items look like?
A:  Most of you have seen members in club gear.  Images of the items can also be viewed as you place your online order.

Q:  Who is our supplier?
A:  Our suppliers are Cannibal - long time triathlon suppliers.

Q:   Can I try items on to see what size I am?
A:   Sorry no.

Q:   Is there more info on items?
A:   Yes.  Refer Cannibal website for more detailed description of their custom range.

Q:   How do I know what size to order?
A:   We recommend you measure yourself, check the size chart and then order relevant sizing.  Don't guess

Q:   What if I order and it doesn't fit?
A:   Happy to advertise the item for re sale in the E News on your behalf.

Q:  If I don't order now can I get what I want later?
A:  No guarantee.  If the minimum order numbers of an item are obtained, that's all we get.

Q:  Why doesn't the club hold uniform stocks?
A:  A number of reasons including deterioration in our climate, storage, administration, cost to the club and the volunteer time involved.

Q:  Why do I have to pay up front?
A:  The club has to pay up front before delivery. Club gear order is a voluntary service to members & experience tells us this is the easiest way to manage.

Q:  If I don't order now, when will the next order be done?
A:  Not known.

Q:  How much profit does the club make on this?
A:  Zero.  The club also subsidizes the freight & design costs to ensure members get quality club gear at the lowest possible cost. The cost listed includes online service fee.

Q:  Closing date is next Tuesday 22 October 2013, why?
A:  We have been advertising for some time that a uniform order was about to happen.  To assist the uniform order volunteer, please get your orders in asap, today would be fantastic!

Q:  How do I order?
A:  Order online here.
Q:  What if minimum order numbers are not reached?
A:   If order numbers are not at or close to minimum, your payment will be refunded less online fee.

Q:  What is the turnaround time for delivery?
A:  Allow about 3-4 weeks from placement of order.  You will receive an email when ready for collection.

Take advantage of this opportunity to order our quality club design gear.

Cheers,
Robyn

3.  We wish to encourage you all to know at least the basic rules of triathlon including those regarding Drafting.

4.  Drafting during the bike leg is against the rules and is considered unfair.  The diagram below demonstrates draft zones.  A good way to familiarise yourself with the distance is to measure it out in a hallway at home.  There are also markers (albeit very faint) in the middle of our usual transition area.

5.  The basic rules of triathlon are attached.  Have a quick read, if you don’t understand anything ask one of our friendly technical officials before the race.

OTHER NEWS:

1.  Past committee member Robbie Andrews was also at Kona, his result 69th M45-49 in 10.04.32

2.  Many of you also know former member Bob Martin.  He went 14th M65-69 in 13.25.10 to realise his dream of a Hawaii finish.

3.  As he was second at our NT Long Course earlier this year you may be interested in Deiter McDonald’s result - 212th M40-44 10.57.09

4.  Good news for Amos Gollach who also came for a pre Kona hit out at the Long Course – he won M18-24 in 9.01.15

5.  To have won M65-59 at Kona this year, you would have needed 10.44.31 in the men and 12.57.17 in the women.

6.  It was refreshing to see the delight experienced by both 2nd placegetters at Kona.  Luke McKenzie and Rachel Joyce are over the moon with their results.

7.  That cranky chef bloke Gordon Ramsey finished in 14.04.48.

8.  Two additions to the Ironman calendar have been announced which are doable from Darwin.  IM Malaysia makes a return in September 2014 and IM 70.3 Putrajaya in April.

9.  Rowan Beggs-French’s 24hr MTB race in Canberra unfortunately came to an abrupt end.  Rowan is now sporting a line of stitches in his knee after crashing out.  We wish him a speedy recovery.

10.  Our uniform order is good to go, just waiting on confirmation from the online rego folk.  Look for a separate email.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRIATHLETE WHEN …

… you spent a lot of your Sunday live tracking Kona athletes
… you are wondering whether tri suit sleeves are a good idea
… you can’t make up your mind about changing to a trucker hat

Cheers,
Robyn
